Last night’s rehearsal was lots of fun. Katie and Jeff are good friends, so their chemistry is great. I don’t know why more people don’t cast groups or friends to play opposite each other. They’ll get along great on set, and their genuine friendship will show up on the screen. No extra acting required!

I’m stressing a bunch because I got several props to make. Specifically:
- giant Pen Sharpener ad
- giant Waterproof Blowdryer ad
- businessey graph, preferably ‘bar’
- “Dollars and Sense” poster

Lots to design and print. Luckily I work at a place that does print production, so I can get that all printed on high quality paper for free! When I wrote the script, I assumed I would get the hook up. I got it before for a sketch show, and it was cool this time too. Booyah!

What I’m worried about is the shot gun. Jeff has a fantasy that he’s shooting up the place just like in the bank scene in They Live.

We currently don’t have a shot gun, and all the fake/toy ones look super crappy. If I don’t get a decent looking shot gun I’ll have to go with Ed’s BB gun. Might look off, but I have to make it work.

BIG SHOOT THIS SUNDAY!! We’re shooting the first scene with the group of board members. Beside Jeff and Tim, we now have in the mix: James Sorrels, Rick Stockel, Neil Arsenty, and Chris Othic. Chirs hooked me up with the office location. It’s so sweet.

Also got a preview of the Midwest Media podcast Jeff and I did over the holidays. Sounds really good. Link up soon!

We shot scenes for the Master of Inventions promo commercial. It was a lot of fun, and we got some great shots. Check out part 1 of the production on our facebook page.

I was having major trouble trying to figure this out. Did a little research, and found the answer! Here’s how to do it, courtesy of Ask Dave Taylor:

Plug in your phone, and even if you don’t want to sync it with your iTunes software.

you’ll find that if there are photos on the phone that Image Capture can now see ‘em and grab them for you:

What I’ve done is set up a new ‘iPhone Pictures” folder in my Pictures directory (instead of the default “Pictures, Movies and Music folders”, choose “Other…” then navigate to your Pictures directory and click “New Folder” on the lower left).

Click on “Download All” and you’ve just accomplished the world’s easiest cellphone photo sync on your new Macintosh!

If you are running an earlier version of Mac OS X, then I suggest that you let iPhoto do the work: start that up before you plug in your phone and it should see the phone and offer you the opportunity to download your pictures into an iPhoto “roll”.

The resemblance is quite striking…

I have no idea who David Thorne is, but he’s my new hero. I found this via Steve Heisler’s blog and found it hilarious and inspiring.

Basically Dave Thorne has an overdue account. Instead of sending money, he sends a drawing of a spider. Comedy ensues:

I still have the Motorola Razr cell phone, so the camera isn’t the best. Here’s some pics from the last few months.

Dave Kadavy and Tim Racine, karaoke at the Spot. We were there for a theater group’s fund raiser and took full advantage of the drink special. They are singing either California Love or Gin and Juice. (In recently speaking with Dave, the song was Extreme’s More than Words)

Look at that juicy steak! Best steak I’ve ever had! Harry Caray’s Steak House. Who’d a thought? This was at the dinner with my bros for my younger brother’s going away party. He’s in Cambodia for 2 years, and what a perfect meal to have before 2 dietary years of bugs, rice, and sand. Yum!

Some one graffit-o-tagged this add for engagement rings (I think). It caught me by surprise, and I actually laughed out loud when I saw it. Let this be a lesson to all you jokesters out there: Never underestimate the comedic power of added facial hair.
