All too true Patrick! For the ads, I figured posing as an ad for a product in the film would be a fun way to get people's attention, but it's not as effective as I hoped. Maybe it looks too much like real span that everyone is use to ignoring. I'm planning on cutting an actual trailer and trying that way soon. I assumed it wouldn't be effective, but your not the first to point this out. Plus, I should be trying any and everything at the moment.

Yeah, and paying for ads at this point is wearing thin. I started and stopped a new campaign because I was paying for clicks and getting no results. Since I'm not selling anything, the ads are intended to increase awareness for the film with high view and shares, but right now it's not effective.

In addition to the above observations I think, correct me if missed something, that your ad looks like an ad for a product and not an ad for entertainment content. By looking at the ad, you can not tell that it is a parody. Perhaps user engagement would be better if you made the advertisement more clear.

An additional problem with many of the "likes" you received is that
those users will not be engaged with your feed and ultimately are just a
number. You can see the engagement level through your FB insights, and what I call "purchased likes" statistically speaking time and time again bring the least value to any marketing list.

Generally another great write up, as your observations are right on.
